Easy and fast method to achieve the most challenging goals!

A good friend called me the other day and said, “hey, I heard you are starting up again – what does your new venture do?”

“It’s a scientific methodology to achieve challenging goals in pretty much any area”, I said.

“Like what, give me some examples?” he asked.

“You know, individual goals like cracking a competitive exam, getting an ivy league PhD, becoming a CEO, winning an international award, achieving excellent health and fitness; Goals for business organizations, like vastly growing sales or profitability, diversifying into other areas, taking an unknown local brand to a global level, building a strong leadership team in a single-entrepreneur setup…”, I replied bracing myself for either a bunch of questions or polite disbelief.

But his response was, “Great, that’s just what I need! So tell me: what is the fast and easy method for achieving challenging goals?”

I was delighted that we may actually get my good friend as yet another client for ASPIREKEN… but the last question was so important, and so basic, that we thought we should actually write a little blog about it.

QUESTION: "What is the fast and easy method for achieving challenging goals?”

SHORT ANSWER: There is NONE.

LONG ANSWER: Read on…

We believe that there is no fast and easy method to achieve your most challenging goals, and we’ll explain that in a minute. But more importantly – there most certainly ARE scientific and reliable ways to vastly improve the probability of your achieving your most challenging goals, and also reaching the general level of competence and success associated with those goals.

Now, why is there no easy and fast method? Firstly, if you can reach your goal quickly and easily, perhaps it was not so challenging in the first place – perhaps you are a 90% capable student, who fixed your target at 70%. Secondly, if you did reach a challenging goal very quickly and easily due to unexpected circumstances, like winning a lottery, then that is luck, not method.

The scientific and reliable method that ASPIREKEN promotes is not a new invention at all; in fact, it as old as life itself and practiced by every organism. The method is also described in the name of ASPIREKEN, which is in fact, a recursive acronym: ASPIREKEN is Simple Progressions for Incredible Results in Every Kind of Endeavour, Naturally.

Simple progressions are pretty much the same way that all living things grow, babies learn to walk and talk, and we learn all motor and cognitive skills like typing, driving, playing a musical instrument, speaking a foreign language, coding software, playing a sport or operating a machine. As long as our mind and body adapts to the new competence and activity pattern in a natural way, our capability shall grow. So, if we do a series of the correct progressions, we should be able to achieve goals which are impossible for our current capability, i.e. currently incredible results and goals.

So the question arises: if this is a well known and natural process, then why do we not achieve every single goal that we want to? The reasons could be many, including but not limited to the following:

  • Firstly, is the goal possible and feasible in the first place (we are talking about incredible goals, like a couch potato running a full marathon after several months of proper progressions and preparation… not an impossible goal, like the same couch potato winning the Olympic marathon gold medal).

  • We may not in our heart of hearts, actually desire the goal enough to make sacrifices, tradeoffs and put in sufficient hard work for sufficient time (as the saying goes, to succeed, you have to do the right thing, long enough and often enough).

  • We may start off in a gung-ho way, but lose steam later

  • We may not know the correct progressions, and may try to do too much, too early

  • We may not use the correct progressions and therefore may not keep improving incrementally and accumulating the benefits steadily, although we are putting in a lot of effort

  • We may be confusing and conflating multiple goals (some of which could be disconnected, and even contradictory) together

  • We may not have considered all (or even many) relevant factors which go into achieving the goal

  • We may have setbacks, losses or injuries (which are expected to happen anyway), but do not recover from them, or even misinterpret the impact, and therefore not learn or gain from our failures. For example, if a rocket launch fails – we may be 95% close to success, or 5% close to success – in both cases the ultimate result is failure, but the underlying situation is drastically different. But if the rocket does take off properly, we know that we have reached 100% success on this goal. So understanding the anatomy of our failure (whether it is a 5% case, a 95% or any other) and building from there onwards with intent and proper method, is critical.

The process of using simple progressions to achieve incredible results and goals is embedded in many areas of endeavor such as driving (which is therefore not considered “incredible”), flying, learning music, sport, and various skills. But the disruptively new technique that ASPIREKEN is trying to bring in is to apply similar methods to more abstract and complex goals. For example, if a small, local mom and pop business wants to take their consumer product business global, it is not a single goal trajectory, like learning to drive a car. It would involve a huge number of component goals, like building the uniqueness of their products, evolving a brand strategy, increasing production capacity, ensuring quality, finding sales channels across geographies, getting licenses to sell in different countries, hiring the right expertise and building the organization to do all these, plus of course, figuring out how to fund the entire transformation and manage it financially, strategically and operationally. Of course it is not easy, and shall take time, effort, and of course the correct progressions. There would be mistakes made, setbacks and failures. But here’s the counterpoint – is it possible at all? Has anyone done it before? The answer is, YES of course! There are literally thousands of cases, in the history of product businesses, which have transformed from tiny local scale to become global MNCs. While there are several component goals, several roadmaps from current to desired states, and several progressions for each of these roadmaps, NONE of these are secret or unknown! The knowledge on how you complete each step is actually available in the market, and can be applied to your situation with planning, common sense and proper guidance.

The entire journey begins of course, with figuring out your goal, and figuring out how badly you want to achieve it. And for that, as well as the subsequent steps, perhaps ASPIREKEN can work with you!
